Friday 11th September 2015 will see some of the world’s top cyclists visit the Peak District for stage six of the Tour of Britain.
Starting in Stoke, the 189km stage will visit Leek and the Staffordshire Moorlands, before passing through Buxton and Bakewell, then on to Matlock and Belper, before finishing in Nottingham. The exact route through the Peak District is subject to final confirmation from Derbyshire County Council.
The stage is likely to be one of the most challenging days on the tour, and may play a big part in deciding the main contenders for the Yellow Jersey, with splits in the peloton likely.
In 2015, the eight stage tour will start on Sunday 6th September for the first time in Wales, with the 177km stage one beginning from Beaumaris, Anglesey to Wrexham, with a London criterium finish on Saturday 13th September.
